Default Octane Boost

Anyone ever use this stuff? Was thinking about bringing a can on Sunday incase I can't get a couple gallons race gas to put in before staging. Never know how much Rgas they may have near the end of season.

Did some research on it when I first got my M3, since the M3 motor does better on higher octane. The conclusion I came to was octane boost is a waste of money.

Why would you think you need race gas White Pony??

Unless your spraying or boosting your car, race gas is a waste of money.

On a previous N/A car, it actually seemed to slow me down...

Don't waste your time or money on race gas, and DEFIANTLY DON'T be 'that guy' at the track putting that shit in your gas tank LMAO..

Do as you will, but just trying to save you embarrassment

Thanks for your reply, but with the change of season, 18# of boost I'll stick with adding a little race gas, just cause it says 93 octane on the pump don't count on it. I'm not em bare assed at all, this is good info for all to know.

If your boosted then just get regular race gas...booster in a can is a waste! The reason for the race gas is to avoid blowing your shit up, I'd trust 100 @ the pump over a can of 4.99 booster ANYDAY of the week, even on sunday LOL

Your motor probably doesn't "tune itself", so why bother.

Just looking for people who may have used this and what they thought of it nothing else. As I originally posted, incase they didn't have any race gas available, it happens, last time I was at Byron the pump didn't work, 93 pump gas you get at a gas station can be actually down to 89 octane, adding a little race gas is just insurance.

you would have to buy 100 bottles to make a tank of 93 into anything near 100octane

If I go, you can borrow some of my gas, I have 10 gallons of 100 I need to dump off before I store the car away in winter. Pewter Z28 with my screen name on the plates.

Just buy me a green monster and a burger and we are good...

every damn one says that one bottle will raise your fuels octane rating "several points"

as in it will now be 93.1-93.4 octane
tinfoilhat and Sprayin like this.

This happens RARELY. A lot of the new high performance cars will have major problems if they get anything less than 91 octane.

that usually has more to do with the condition of the underground fuel tanks and the sales volume

the fuel is all from the same damn refiner with the additives added to the truck

I just wanted to know if anyone had ever used it.. but I have never bought any additive shit, this is worthy info for anyone who is tempted to buy into marketing. Tweaking the 93 pump gas with a little race gas just to make sure your at 93 is the goal, not to turn 93 into 100.

old gas with all the higher volatiles missing is just as bad as low octane rating

i think the hot fuel issue is far more important than your percieved sleight of not getting "true" 93 octane

The question asked on the original post was for actual experience with octane booster, does it work? Does it not? All the other dagger chatter is worthless and does not give answers to the orginal question.

Treating the question as if I have other tuning or mechanical problems is off topic. Turk is one who actually gave an answer of his research experience in his first post.

It's all good, not looking at throwing gernades at each other just talk.

Unless you buy torco which is the only one i have heard of that might work. Its expensive and I don't know how much it actually works in reality.

There has to be a local station near you that sells 100. That's plenty for 18psi
