Trans cooler install for TH400

Another bunch of hours of my life gone to the.cobra.

Seems everyone with a TH400 installs their cooler behind the drivers fog light...a lot of distance, hose involved for.that.

Soooo, I got lucky and it is a perfect fit here:

Made this rude, crude but.highly effective bracket. There is about 3/8" clearance from the swaybar:

Look how tucked away it is:

The best thing? It has a fan on it above the cooler you can't even see in the pics.
Made the crossmember today too...too hillbillic to post.

Realized today a k member is definitely a necessity on this car. Motor mounts are worn from the engine.sitting without a trans connected for 6 months lol.
Also, it would be 100% impossible to replace the.starter without dropping the stock k.

When I was mocking the brackets, I though ...a lot of people are going to disagree with its placement. So, I thought about why people.would.question it.

I came up with no reasons its in a bad place so id love to hear your thoughts.

I must have left out the fact all other th400 converts install theirs behind the drivers foglight where there is zero airflow.
and I left out the fact there is a fan on this cooler.

not airflow, i just think its kind of unprotected where it is at, id be worried about bottoming out and taking it out.

How is it any more unprotected than the heat exchanger and condenser?

Like where? Between the condenser and radiator? Hot condenser air feeding the trans cooler then to radiator?
You guys are killing me.

FYI this cooler is designed for areas with little air flow. Its thermostatically controlled to.come on at 175.

Placement is fine, dont let them tell you different, and the k is lower than it so i see no issues with hitting it except with maybe somethin youd run over

Only problem i do see is when you pop the hood and you see it from the top, may look a lil cheesy, but than again theres so much shit in front of the timing cover you may not see it at all

To me that looks like a ok spot ,Other then the chance of picking up sometype of trash off the road (them fins may take a little abuse) But there again look at the upgraded heat exchager you put in for me in the frt end its already got some trash damage to fins. But then of course you dont drive it that much lol

it should work fine... we have mounted them in the rear of the car with a fan and never had any issues...
