Exhaust question

i am now actively looking for a vert terminator since my 99 was totaled this past summer. i found one with no cats, an aftermarket exhaust X pipe (i dont know the brand, the dealer is going to throw it on a lift and call me back) any idea on how much it would cost to out some high flow cats on so i could pass emissions? could i just have someone cut the pipes before the X and weld them in? thanks. if you know of any verts for sale with low miles let me know too. i was all set to buy one next week at the nissan dealer over on dundee off of rt 53 but they sold it 2 days ago.


edit: correction. this is the info the guy gave me: bbk h pipe ford motor sport mufflers, 5.0 shifter, pulloey and an intake.

If all you're looking to do is pass emissions then have the code turned off by someone who can tune the car and you're good. They don't do a visual, all they do is make sure the check engine light isn't on.

last time i had my 99 in for testing they couldnt read the OBD because i had an sct tune so they did a sniff test.

why not look around for a stock x-pipe and put that on. It will have the required cats and you should be good to go.
probably be cheaper than having 2 cats welded in.

I have a stock catted mid pipe with like 3000mi in shed if interested.

You could just get a set of MIL eliminators and let the tuner turn the rear O2s back on and pass the smog.
