Before I yanked the original engine, my friend halped me diagnose the noise was coming from the very back of the engine on the drivers side. To be expected because thats the farthest away from the oil pump.
So after being on a stand for 11 months, I flipped it over, removed the pan windage tray and oil pump pick-up, I went straight for the back rod.
BINGO! :biggthump
Check out how subtle the problem is. The upper rod bearing slid over about 1/8" because the alignment tab degraded:
The following is the bearing cap/bearring from the same rod:
Now the #4 Rod:

Talk about getting lucky huh? :headbang:
Its getting ONE bearing and going back together. May be put up for sale or go in my Blue Marauder
