Where is the best place to put the o2 sensor to get the most accurate reading?

mount the 02 sensor at least 18" downstream from the exhaust port. if your gonna run a turbocharger, run at high rpm for extended periods of time or plan on running leaded race fuel then u must mount the sensor at least 36" or more downstream as all of these can cause the sensor to overheat. the sensor should be inclined at least 10* from horizontal with the electrical connection upwards.

If you still have the factory x-pipe, then we usually use the driver's side pipe and mount the bung a little behind and above the factory sensor.
Try to mount the sensor in the 2 o'clock position. This points the sensor down inside the pipe and prevents moisture from entering the sensor.

yes, if the sensors are totally turned off, that could work.
try it. the worst that can happen is you'll throw a code that can be cleared.

The only down side is the distance from the engine. The further away, the leaner the readings will be. in this case that shouldn't be an issue as it is still relatively close.

Be particularly careful of the wiring routing. There are a lot of hot pipes that will melt the wiring in short order and cause headaches.

this is an incorrect statement as far as "leaner"...

the farther downline the sensor is, there is a delayed response, but the a/f is still correct as long as you dont have exhaust leaks.. also, as soon as the cats do their job, the a/f is also correct.. putting in the stock REAR 02 placement is perfectly fine as this is a heated 02
