yea its for the gt500 and im running the nitto nto5rs on the stock rims, the tire is a 305/45 18, im familiar with the ratios but wanna know what most people liked on their gt500s, i had an 07 gt before with a 3.90 and that was good, i didnt wanna go over 4.10 with that only being a 5 speed, i mean if i did do a 4.10 on my gt500 i wanted to know how people did with traction and how it did for em on the highway, it is my side car but still want streetability as alot of my racing is street

3.73's are what most owners good to, I know when I got rid of the 3.31's it was a hell of a difference. Would I do it again yes, would I think of a 3.90 yes as long as you are running a 28" rear tire I would. I dont think you can go wrong with either gear one of the better mods you can do to a 07-09 gt500.

Still debating between 3.73 , 3.90, and 4.10, anyone whose runnin these can you tell me what your RPMs are at when you cross the line in the 1/4 and also venmous how is your traction with the 4.10s???

Do you have anyother mods yet? I just got my pulley/intake/tune and now my car just blows off the tires in first and second. I can't imagine going to a higher gear. That would make 1-3 useless. I'm sure it helps a ton at the track, but forget it on the street.

4.10s with a 28" tall drag radial gets me 6200 in 4th at the end. With the 3.73s it was about 6400. With the stock 3.31s you would have just shifted into 4th and that just killed ETs

I do not agree with that at all! One of the better mods IMO is a set of gears, really wakes up the car.

Exactly. The 3.31s are just one step up from Police Interceptor. 75% of GT500 drivers...uh, owners...can't get it away from a stop sign without chattering the crap out of the clutch. That is mostly "pilot error" but a contributing factor is the gearing. The 3.73s make a world of difference. Plus, it took my car out of the "drone zone" of 1800 rpms to about 2000-2100 at 65-70mph and eliminated the harmonics from the Ford Racing 5GT axle backs (Borla Stingers).

With my 4.10s and street tires, 26", I can let it idle and let the clutch out slowly and move away with no throttle at all. Try that with your 3.31s.

My race tires take the ratio down to about 3.95 and it's absolutely perfect.

I can drive to the track and get 19mpg at 65mph with over 650hp at the motor and a big honkin throttle body, so the gears aren't gonna screw with your mpg much.

tahnks for the info, well ill prolly do 3.73s then since im on the nitto nto5r and not slicks, but vnmous, im confused, you said your at 6200 at the end of 4th with the 4.10s and at 6400 with 3.73s? did you have a different tire since your rpms were higher at the end of forth with the 3.73s?

but also i see you did 10.8s with less than 600 hp, i dont see many people doing that, how did you set up your suspension and car to pull off a ET like that? must of had a killer 60 ft

Sorry....my bad. 6400-6500 at the end with 4.10s on stock tire sizes of 26.5". 3.73s with 305/35/18 M/T DRs (26") were about 6200-6300. The shorter tire made it a little better....probably 3.80-ish...but not nearly as good as the 28s and 4.10s.

As for ET, I had a 1.53 60' on that run. M&H Racemaster DRs 325/50/15 on Bogarts. Bogart/M&H skinnies up front.

My car is a dyno pig. I could put a jet engine in it and it wouldn't dyno more than it is now. Bizarre. We all just laugh about it.

My guess is that it's over 600 at the tires given the trap speed and I pick up over 30mph in the back half.
