i hate to say it but that rear end is probably junk now. there is so much heat in it and with it not being welded in a jig it distorted for sure. buy a brace kit from chp if you don't have a jig to weld it in. its cheap and bolts up with a few holes.

you messed up obviously, but you really should get a new housing and start fresh, they are very cheap. we are just trying to help you out and no one wants to see you screw up.

Everything looks minus the rear...it's nice to see people fabing and welding ok their own cars..let the people here bitch but in the end you'll be the only one working on the car and say I built this thing.

so moving on with the build...............

Decided to go with a wiring kit from The Detail Zone, for running the engine since the original harness seems like its missing a few pieces, and the harness i got from Dunne right performance..... doesnt seem done right to me. (not to mention ive called them 5 times with questions and always get put on hold wit hno answeres.... kinda pisses me off)
still need to go back and final wrap the wires and put the plastic wire shields on them, but you get the idea.
Ps if anyone ever does a swap like this, would recomend this harness kit, a little pricey but GOOD GOD very detailed and EVERY single wire is labeled with exactly what it is, and were it goes to, and what spot it plugs into on the main bored

[IMG]http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj272/kweb288/randomstuffkitchenandmustang040.jpg
[/IMG]

My rear seat delete kit will cover all of this wiring up, and the rest of the wiring will be hid by the dash/center consel, and runs under neath the carpet to the panel. Only took a couple of days to get this far, and its almost all wired up!

Now i know im prob gona get a LOT of shit for this.... but o well deal with it!

Im gona attempt to build my own headers for this car. I got a 1 3/4" pipe kit, flanges and everything i need

and here are some more welds i did... personally i think im getting better... but im sure there are plenty of people on this forum that are gona talk shit about it, and honestly i dont really give a fuck anymore

Happy belated holloween!

I applaud you for doing so much on your own, and not giving up or just buying someone else's completed project.

Kudos on the project man! I missed this thread somehow so I looked at the hole thing. Give ya a lot of credit on it. The only thing I would say (not to beat a dead horse) from someone who has been welding for a years(at work) would be take a bunch of scrap metal and sit down at the work bench and just keep trying at it, its the only way you are ever going to learn. Of course it would be better to have someone with you who knew what they were doing but if that is not an option then what I said will get it done after time. Yes your headers look a hell of a lot better, just spend a few hours here and there and you will get it. Hell with as much time as you have into this what is another 20 hours or whatever spent learning more.

thanks man! ya that is basically what i have been doing lately. Still waiting to purchase a metal band saw to cut the header piping, so while im waiting i am just picking up random pieces and burning them together.

Also reading as much as possible on the topic in books and such

K guys, got a new tool! a metal cutting saw so i could start working on my headers

After 2 days of working, i have made some decent progress on them.

Obviously i have only tacked the pipes into place incase i need to change things up a little.

PS- does anyone have recomendations for someone who could coat the headers? (i am making them out of mild steel)
