Anyone store their car using a trickle charger?

Anyone use a trickle charger on their car while storing it for the winter?

Do you leave the trickle charger on 24/7?

Do you leave the hood closed and the cover on the car, while using the trickle charger?

I pull the battery and put it in the basement on wood and hook up the trickle charger every few weeks. Been doing it for years on my motorcyles and the batteries last hell of a lot longer.

i use a battery tender. it will activate when the battery gets too low, otherwise its in standby mode. it has an led indicator to let you know what its doing. red=charge green=standby. seems to work okay..

Me too. Have been using it for years, even during the summer when the car might sit for weeks at a time. It works fine with the cover on the car.

yea, with the battery in the trunk the cover fits great with cover on.

Keep an eye on your trickle charger's operation. There was a significant fire locally about two months back caused by a trickle charger gone bad. Burned up over $1.0 Million in cars in guys garage. Not sure of the brand.
