Help selecting Long Tube headers for a 1994-1995 Mustang

1994 - 1995 Mustang, I am looking for long tube headers. They must be 1 5/8s and a 3 inch collector. Due to the steering shaft, 87 - 93 headers do not fit.

• BBK, MAC and Pacesetter make LT headers in the 1 5/8 for a 1995 Mustang
• Kooks and Hooker only make in 1 3/4 size, but I will call again to discuss options.
• Bassani, Dynotech and Stainless Works do not make long tubes for a 1995 Mustang.
• Accufab and Doug Thorley do not offer LT headers for 95 Mustang (per their site); however, I am calling again.

If I have to select from BBK, MAC and Pacesetters, then what are your thoughts? Are there other options other than $$$$ custom headers.

BBK - I could cut off the restrictive ball and use a Dr. Gas x pipe. Bends at bottom of tubes look kind of restrictive. Enlarge the photo.

MAC- I could cut off the restrictive ball and use a Dr. Gas x pipe. Less restrictive bends, but not a single piece flange.

i have the pacesetter coated headers on my camaro and i have no problem with rust....only thing rusting is the clamps..had them on the car for about a year now

I am going to call them again. The tech was a little challenged; however, looking at the Hooker site, they do not have a solution for the 95 Mustang.

what size ,motor you have determines wheather you need 1 3/4 or 1 5/8

stock to a 306 15/8

308 or bigger and or boost 1 3/4

i have accufab longtubes on my 95gt with a 347 , good power bad firiment steering shaft goes throgh one of the tubes


bbk fits awsome and they dont peel like macs do and the ball is not that restrictive .

forget dr gas x pipe waste o money

mac prochamber off road 4 long tubes which will work with bbks i believe sound s the best and good results in power from it

Thank you everyone for the input and keep them coming...

Class regulates a 1 5/8 and every h.p. counts, so if a Dr Gas gives me an extra 5 hp due to it being a true x pipe, then I am willing to spend the extra $$$.

I am more than open to suggestions as the 94-95 Mustang is rather limited in header selections.

I've heard the BBK's have the better quality and fitment, but also cost more for it.....pacesetter's & mac's are cheap, but questionable quality.

I'm going to be going with the BBK's or Kook's in the future when I decide on displacement (331 or 392). :biggthump

MAC suck as each primary has it's own flange to the head. The issue is the primaries can move due to heat and such. You have to fight to put them on. The BBK are a much better choice as they have a 1 piece flange so they bolt right up. They fit very well and quality is good. The ceramic finish will not stay shinny over time. But they don't peel and the ceramic coating does it's job well.

You say every HP helps. Well I have heard of class guys trying several different h and x pipes to see what works with their combo. Is a x pipe worth it is you gain 5 peak hp but loose an average of 5 hp or more every where else? What about torque? See what I am getting at?
