ticking sound

[BOX 3?]

My 91 lx is makin a ticking sound. Sounds like its coming from the passanger side of the motor. Im going to take it to a shop soon just thought id see if any one had some imput. sry about the vid its crappy but you can here the tic at idle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6H_mxZ99UAU

ya i thought that at first but it sounds like its comming directly from the motor

check all header gaskets, rear EGR tube, if ya got nothing then take a screw driver and put the tip on the motor and the handle to your ear and try and narrow it down. Or just pull the valve cover off the pass. side and check for loose rockers, etc.

it could sound like its coming from the head because its leakin at the ports?

use a really long screwdriver or pry bar and touch the pointy end of it to where you think the problem is, and put your ear to the handle.

My names Allen its commin from the passanger side head. ya ill try the screw driver and and ill check the exhaust prolly gonna make it to a shop sometime this week and have them check it out

a tick/knock thats every other revolution is valvetrain because the cam turns at 1/2 engine speed.

wrist pin knocking is a much softer knock than a rod or crank bearing
