I know that the manuals get better MPG on the freeway, but noone with a stick has really commented on their in-town mpg compared to an auto.

I'm more curious if the manual gets 19mpg in the city opposed to the autos 15, etc. because they were sold before the new MPG 'guidelines' as far as what they have to list.

Trust me, I WANT a manual, but I'm CURIOUS how sturdy the autos are compared to them, the city MPG, and how the shift quality is etc.....

If I can get an auto for 2-3 grand less its gonna be hard to pass up.

Lol, Fair enough.

I will still test drive it cause I have yet to drive ANY GTO, and I from that I can decide if I like it enough to buy one.

And again, I want a manual. 29mpg opposed to 21 on the freeway is a BIG difference, especially on the OLD MPG scale.

I can't think of a SINGLE import minus maybe a Supra that would be better on the strip in Auto trim than manual.

I also haven't heard of a single manual car from the factory being slower than its auto sibling... errr... Ever?
Maybe some DSG cars or Mercs? Maybe?

I know it has the 1-4 skip-shift built into it, and there was mention of that without the skip-shift it would be hit by the gas-guzzler tax, Dunno the truth behind that.
