The other day I noticed what sounded like a bad vacuum leak on the Cobra. You could only hear it right as I turned the engine off and it sounded like vacuum bleeding off for a few seconds.
Turns out it was my JLT PCV pre-filter.
On the top of the filter where the PCV valve plugs in, there is a rubber grommet. Somehow oil had saturated around the outside of this grommet causing it to get slippery. The whole thing popped out of the JLT filter along with the PCV valve, but it was disconnected in such a way that you probably wouldn't notice by casually looking at it.
I re-installed the grommet and plugged the PCV back in, but it just popped back out again. I had to thoroughly clean the grommet and the aluminum JLT filter assembly to get it to stay in.
Since the whole purpose of the JLT filter is to deal with oil, this could be a problem. I'll have to think of a way to rig it up differently so this stops happening.
