I have a 86 Lincoln Towncar with a 5.0 that needs an engine rebuild. I have a 86 HO motor with an after-market cam and bad crank that was pulled running from a rusted out GT.
This is a winter driver and where doing this on the cheep so I'd like to re-bearing the Lincoln short-block (all it needs) the put it back together with the HO cam, heads and intake. Maybe even the HO headers.
We didn't have the foresight to save the computer from the GT so we'd like to use the one in the Towncar. The firing order for the HO is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 and the stock Towncar is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8
Now how can I make this work?
Should I look for a GT computer? or can I rewire the injectors?
Are the Distributors the same?
Thanks,
Fletch
