Its not too hard to undstand, they have a local and then a express lane. If you know how to play the lights you can get from Arlington Heights road to 294, FAST.

And switching back and forth to avoid lights?? How is that express?? Seriosly, I want the shit the guy that designed that roadway was smoking. 4th of July would be a whole lot cooler.

The outside lanes are the local lanes. Say you leave you house off palatine road you would get in the local lanes. If you want to get in the express lanes you need to switch over when the light is green. The local lane gets the green before the middle so if your driving around in the middle and the light just tunes red you can switch to the local lanes (if you can) because the light for those turns green. Again, not hard to stand, do I need to make a mspaint drawing.

The concept of it I can understand. It just makes very little sense to me. Probably why Ive only seen it in Palatine.

PANDA is right...if you know how to switch between the locals and the express you can save a ton of time.

Personally...I would love to see an MSPaint of the concept.
