worn out steering wheel

My SVT contour..the steering wheel...is faded and it has some particles that are getting on my hand..is there n e thing i can do other then getting a gaudy cover?

Clean it thoroughly to get the dirt off and then lightly sand it to smooth out any rough spots. I had a worn area on top that kept getting worse so I used Scotch Brite to sand the rough edges of the leather and it has held up pretty well since then.

There are some decent "wraps" out there. Just take some time to search and buy a good one. It's almost like getting a new wheel

thats why I worry so much about my steering wheel,
and keep a cover on it at all times, the leather feels great on your skin, but the oils etc. in your skin actually break down the leather over time

Have you tried Ebay? They usually have steering wheels very cheap,
and a local towing yard many have one even more reasonable

But yes, there are some decent steering wheel covers out there,
but they are hard to find :biggthump
