trying to figure out problem with idle

well for awhile now i have had an issue with my idle haning at about 1,800 rpms.. anytime i rev it up or push the clutch in.. of if i in gear and let of the gas the car will pull its self... the idle stays there for like 5-10 secs then slowly comes back down to 800 rpms.. if i touch the gas slightly.. it jumps back to 1,800 and stays there again for another 5-10 sec..i have ignored it for a while and have finally gotten fed up with it... could it be the DPFE sensor? i already changed my IAC valve and that didnt do anything..

Vacuum leak and computer is trying to keep the motor from stalling??

It maybe your fuel rail sensor.

hey, this is a common problem with all the focus's. This is a computer problem. Get a new tune and that should fix your problem. im also going to pm you this.

i had that problem on my 2.3 I4 Topaz

I changed throttle positioning sensor and pcv valve and it took care of the problem.
