LT5s were in the ZR-1. They were Lotus designed and Mercury Marine built quad cam V8s. I cant possibly imagine the cost of replacement parts let alone a motor for one of those beasts.

Let me put it this way... $$$$$

To replace a set of injectors is 16 grand at 1k a piece. (at least this was back in the late '90s)

I work at a Corvette specialist shop and these engines are nothing but technological marvels of a paperweight. They're a bitch to work on and cost way too much to maintain.

Also, if the trans that the engine is connected to/being sold with is original out of the same car, then it isn't an LT5 engine. ZR-1s were all manual iirc.

yea, i think the cheapest real LT5 i have ever seen was for like $15K and it was still a brand new engine- 0 miles! they are an amazing engine though! 4 cams, dual runner intake with 16 injectors, 3 blade throttle body, adjustible horsepower level for the valet or wife.... and thats just the engine- the car also had numerous changes that made it better than a standard vette.

and yes, they were all manual but i believe the trans was just a beefed up version of the standard ZF-6 speed that came in all manual corvettes of the same year...
