My buddy cracked the intake manifold on his wifes 99 Olds minivan with the OHV 3.4 V-6.

I know that the OHV 3.4 is in 99+ Grand am's, Grand Prix, Monte's, etc, but they aren't common in junkyards yet, Does anyone know if the 91+ 3.1 OHV GM engines have the same intake manifold as those? or if they are close enough to make it work easily?

Also, I need a definite like yes/no type of thing, not a 'I think they are' Cause I think they are too, but don't wanna pick one up for my buddy to find out they aren't.

Those were twincam cars though IIRC.

Thanks for the quick response though, they are definitly not the same.

While I have your interest, do you think the grand-ams and Monte's are the same upper manifold as the van?

The 93-95 3.4 Fbodies were NOT twin cams. The 1st gen GTPs were 3.4 twin cams. Also, the 3.4 was never used in the GP. *edited to say in 97+ GPs*

The Aztek and the Rendevux also used the 3.4.

The OHV 3.4(aka 3400 SFI on the plenum) were found in Grand Am's, Aleros, Ventures, Montana's, Silhouettes(Olds minivan), 00+ base model Impalas and Monte Carlos.

There is a difference in the 3.1 OHV plenums(upper intakes). The 1989-1994 3.1 MPFI will not fit. The 95-00 3100 SFI(different than the 3.1 MPFI) will not work(99% sure)*only on the 3100 upper intakes that are in cars newer than 2000*. Before 01, the 3100's were different. In 01+ the 3100 intakes matched the 3400's I believe. However I believe the EGR is different between the 3100 and 3400 intakes. That's what most people on w-body have to go through when they "upgrade" from a 3100 upper intake to the 3400 intake. And people on w-body upgrade from the 3100 plenum to the 3400, the 3400 flows better. And the 3400's are pretty plentiful in the j/y's around here. They've used the 3400 motor since 97, so they're probably just as plentiful as a 3800. I see them in yards all the time, I don't think you shouldn't have trouble finding any.

You also forgot the Aztek and Rendevux.

I called 5 yards, only got ahold of 4, 2 yards had it, 2 yards didn't, Luckily one of the yards that had it happened to be in town, got pulled from a 99 Pontiac Montana van, and they had a 2000 Venture out front also.

Thank god the montana's engine was sitting out in the open on a pallet, made getting the manifold off a breeze! Thanks for the help everyone!
