Default Outlander Sport Mud Action

Well... I got bored...

SO, I joined my brother who had his 95 Bronco 5.0 on 33"s, his buddy who has a Ford Ranger EDGE, and we went and played in the mud. I was BEYOND impressed that my 150HP/150TQ built on a Lancer frame, closer to AWD than 4WD Outlander Sport only got stuck once. Only casualty was a tiny piece of the plastic skidplate under the drivers side rear seat area.

So, enjoy some pics of me pushing my gas sipper beyond what it was designed to do. Cherish these pictures, ladies and gentlemen, because I WILL NOT be doing this again.

yeah... a bit of water came up over the hood on the front passenger corner briefly (you can actually see the water mark on the hood in the pictures)

Luckily the air intake is in the back of the engine bay on the drivers side. I was pretty much done after that happened.

So is this outlander sport what a forester is to an impreza then?

IE: evo/lancer suspension and mods work on it?

I don't know if it transfers over to the newer one, but yes, for the mid 2000's models, there was some ability to use evolution 8-9 stuff.

Yes... My buddy had an '06 Outlander and an '05 evo MR... He put the stock MR bilstiens with robispec springs on the outlander, also had evo X 10 spokes on it... thing was fun as shit to rip around. No big brakes on his car though...

Yup. Lancer platform and lancer drivetrain. An EVO X drivetrain would just bolt in. If anyone finds me one, I'm game.

"finds me one" should be read as "donates one to me"

My appologies for any confusion as to my financial stability.

Also, next time I go mudding (which I will probably never subject my poor little car to again) you and your subby are coming

It went offroading a few times back when it was stock ride height but it just doesn't have the clearance these days. It was dragging through the few inches of snow we saw this year.
