The worst thing you can do in a vette when spinning after a 1-2 shift is let off. That's how people lose control of them. Stay in the gas and steer into the slide to correct.

Yes it is, but Corvettes are particularly bad with their leaf spring suspension.

My car will get sideways fast if I hit the slightest bump while in the throttle. I agree that you have to stay in it and steer through it.

Lifting most likely caused it, not the springs. The leaf springs don't help because they get bouncy (more so than coil springs) when a driver lifts and the rear end loses traction.

Not an expert, just repeating what MANY C5/C6 vette owners have told me over the past decade and a half. If they are wrong, so be it. I really could give a shit. I don't own a Vette and I never will.

My point was that the dude saying "If you're spinning then STOP" is dead wrong.

Either Vettes have more idiot drivers than other vehicles, or there's something with the suspension, cause they really like to get lose around corners. Always have heard that they are VERY hard to drive to the limit.
