I saw a red 2009ish 4 door F-150 FX2 (Sporty looking one), undercover in Woodridge just 2 nights ago. I've been seeing some interesting undercover models lately.

I've seen quite a few interesting undercover cars along 355. A couple of Monte's, Taurii (older models), and Cherokee's, plus the standard Impala's, Chargers, Camaro's, Mustang's, etc.

They're getting creative, that's for sure. There's an undercover Cook County Fusion Hybrid trolling around Streamwood whenever I'm up that way. All blacked out except for the spots where the dash/window lights are mounted.

I don't understand why they don't just dress up some police cars as cabs. People see a Crown Vic and immediately look it over. As soon as you see it's a cab you just fly by it. Pop an undercover cab out there any they're going to clean up.

I heard that if an unmarked car tries to pull you over, you don't have to stop if you don't want to. I think my friend said you could pull over at a gas station etc. and you can call 911 to double check if it's a real cop or not

"legally" you can do that any time a cop tries to pull you over. You also have the right to not pull over until you feel that you're in a safe area. The cop is still going to be extra pissed off though

There are a lot of things you can "legally" do, but most of them are going to cause more trouble than its really worth. Yeah it's your right, but because you are breaking the law, it also it gives the cop more excuses to write out tickets. Fully cooperate, and you have a much better chance of getting let off with warnings.

I'm having trouble finding a good article about it, but it looks like they have 18 of them in current duty. They are meant for use with under cover operations etc. They are not used for traffic enforcement etc.
