So I have a potential buyer for the Jeep so Im about to start shopping for a new car. I need a 4 dr that is fun to drive and gets about 25mpg avg. I am mainly looking at 07/08 335i's or xi's. My budget is $25k and it seems they can be had for that with about 50k on them. I def want a warranty as these are not vehicles I am comfortable working on. Are there any similar cars I should take a look at also?

Anyone have first hand experience owning or driving these? Are there any potential issues I should look out for while shopping?

Are the New Volvo S60 T5's falling into that price range yet?

a G8 can be had for low 20's, and can deliver 25+ on the highway without a problem, granted not as high in town (I don't think 335's can get above 20 in town either though).

the more recent generations of Audi S4's can be had for that much, how bad are they on MPGs?

Audi A6 with the 3.0T?

Acura RDX? (2.3 Turbo, will last forever, 4 doors, 24 mpg highway)

Acura TL's/Accords (the 2006+ accords are a very nice place to be inside, and you could get a brand new accord 4 banger probably loaded to the teeth brand new for 25K with a 6 speed and get 30mpg all day long)

Here's what I can do. I'll link up pics of cars I'd look at if I had $25K sitting in my pocket. Some will obviously be less than 25 but with the budget, you would be able to find extremely nice examples of said cars. Also, what I'd factor in (which obviously you've done to some extent) is safety, having a new addition to the family.

$25K can also get you into a nice SRT8 Charger/C.

There's a list of other cars that can be had for this price too that will keep you safe when you need it, comfy, good MPG and reliability is up there too.

Maybe Audi A6 (05+) .. neighbor has one. Awesome car.

Can find one with low miles for mid 20s and they're HUGE and get great mpgs.. some pics after I cleaned it up for 'em a few months ago. Looks like money , drives like money.

I love mine.

I'm not debating about the 'awesomeness' of the 335, He asked if there were others similar worth taking a look at and I feel all the ones I listed are worthy of considering as well that fit his criteria.

@ the V70R, I looked at S60/V70R's a while back, and I found ALOT of horror stories about expensive things wearing out VERY quickly on them Suspension/Tire/Brake wise :tear:. I am a huge fan still, but would never own one because of all of the horror stories.

I was considering 535's too (same drive train) and I think it's a lot more than a few week's worth of cars that had the problems. It was a chronic problem and I believe one that BMW covers now regardless of warranty status.

I'd take the 335 over anything Das posted. The Volvo interiors are bland (my wife has an XC90) and they're front wheel drive based anyhow.

As long as you are fine with repair costs of the BMW, Audi, and other Euro manufacturers have at it, but I have heard nothing but horror stories about having to fix expensive items out of warranty.

I haven't heard many Audi horror stories as of late minus the first generation 2.0T motor with the cam followers and something else IIRC. I'd be dead-scared of that BMW fuel pump issue, I've seen stories of people having 2, 3, even 4 of them fail under warranty...
