Removing scratches from windshield

So I went to Iowa this weekend and I went through a barrage of bugs on my way there. I had to clean the windshield half way there it was so bad. To make a long story short I clean the windshield with a squeegee before I headed home. I was pressing pretty hard to get the bugs off and noticed some scratches on the windshield. Turns out it was one of the wooden handled squeegees with the metal frame and must have had a jagged piece under the sponge What can I do?

Try taking a buffer to it I've heard success stories where peoples windows/windshield comes out crystal clear that way.

And also to keep those bugs off the windshield, apply some regular car wax to it. On my 500 mile roadtrips, I only get like 1 or 2 bugs MAX on my windshield. You can see most of them just bounce right off

I did the same thing with a winter scrapper on my Mustang. If you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, you have two options. Either replace the windsheild or live with it. I went to two different windsheild places and asked if they could fix it and they told me the same thing.

pending depth it can be slightly polished. or at least masked with a sealant

I would probably take it somewhere where someone is familiar with buffing glass. You could mess it up if you are not careful.

all my stuff is glass safe and they even show how to do glass in thier instruction vids.

My boss has some diamond polishing compound used to polish steel molds to mirror smooth so I'm going to give that a shot on a small area. If that works and I'm not comfortable I'll take it in. Thanks for the help guys. I feel like an idiot.

I was talking about like Meguiars compound or something, I dunno about the metal polish I wouldn't try that.

I'd do it if I wasn't lazy, but try googling it there should be an answer/DIY on how to shine up your glass on there

Insurance if it's bad enough to be seen, and if you have glass on there it's usually a zero dollar deductible.

Otherwise try a body shop that knows how to buff glass.

I've never seen a body shop that can buff anything. Some wax or rain-x might fill it in, AutoGeek has glass pads for PCs or agree with a few above, just have it replaced if it is that bad.
