yes, I know for a fact a car @ around 3200-3400 lbs putting down 800hp will do a high 8 second pass. you need about 400 hp more to get to bottom 8's, high 7's. about 1000 more to get to low 7's and another 1000 more to get to mid 6's. roughly 3200 hp is needed to put a 3200 lbs car into the mid 6's. about 8000 hp is needed to go into the 4's. LOL power goes up exponentialy to gain 10ths of a second.

I just always thought supras needed insane amounts of hp to run anything decent in the 1/4 mile.

800whp in a 3200 car is 800rwhp in any 3200lb car.

problem with a lot of supras is that they are dyno queens...put down over 1000hp but never hit the track and if they do...they run 11s at 170mph

i like this one. not insane power but it moves out and seems to be driveable on a daily basis.

.

Specifically the dyno queen supras are very 'peaky', so you have 34523453245whp, but its only for a very small RPM/Boost window. HUGE turbo's do not always equate to awesome 1/4th times.

So he was spraying it on the street too huh? Probably more realistically a 10sec car when he's driving it around. It's like those 6sec cars people call "street cars" because they drove it down the street and back. :picard:

I know what your saying, but it's kinda moot anyway. I'm sure he's not driving around on the same tune/boost levels that he is at the track either. He seems to tune his own car so I'm sure he runs a couple different setups depending on the situation. The fact that he can if he wanted to is what makes it impressive to have a car like that.

there are times where i wake up and wish i had waited to find a supra instead of buying the cobra...but then i get into the cobra and it goes away.

Can't argue with that. I'd take a Cobra over a Supra anyday. I just thought it was cool that he can run an "8 second car" on the street whenever he wants. I have mad respect for people like that. Screw those trailer queens.
