98 camry cruise control went out

My daily driver is a 1998 Toyota Camry 2.2 with 169k on the clock. car runs and looks really good. It's always been taken care of but recently the cruise control went out. If you turn it on the light on the dash lights, but then that's it.


Anyone experience this or have any possible leads to get started on? I've heard that cruise control is hard to diagnose. I checked fuse and the actual throttle wire is ok

true. it worked perfect though until about a week ago... even my daily driver only gets driving once or twice a week... then it kinda struggled. no out.

i'd be willing to bet the stoplight switch went bad or is out of adjustment. it's fairly common on these toyota's and will cause cruise to be inop. a new one is $25 from autozone, i'd give it a shot

it started working again... then my 300zx blew a bypass coolant hose... so my time, money, and energy have been directed towards that. The z should be back together tuesday then i'll take a look. The camry also has a solenoid in the gas take thats bad? i guess it helps relief the pressures? I've gotta look more into that.... thats giving me a cel
