Flowmaster Super 44's

Bought these mufflers because of this car:

have and intake w/ k&n filter. just put on the exhaust. and it sounds like a beast. no rasp. just growl. a definite must for 3.9 guys

Mine doesnt sound like this and Im pretty disappointed.

Any thoughts?

I know my exhaust tone got a bit deeper and sounded better after being broken in for a week. Also, his mic on his camera might just make it sound different.

I wasnt aware of a break in period.

They brand new mufflers? Maybe I heard wrong, but I thought there is a bit of a break in for mufflers

Yeah, brand new.

Maybe flowmaster is different, but on my SLP junk there was a definite "burn in" smell coming from the mufflers. this went away in a week and the exhaust did sound a bit more throaty after that week.

Hopefully it works out for you though. Does it sound too raspy right now?

I believe these are smaller than the Super 40s that I have. If they are, they'll give you a deeper tone in lower RPMS and rasp.

I have a 40 on my truck, like Sleeper LS said, Mine definitily got a quite bit deeper over the course of a few weeks.

I don't know what kind of material is in the flows but my magnaflows were as quiet as stock when I put them on and progressively got louder and louder over the years. Even after a few weeks I noticed a difference.

Kinda sorta?

(This is within the first week of getting the muffler done, but the truck was naturally aspirated)



Here is a year later with the blower, regardless of the blower, the 'burble' is distinctly deeper IMO.

Seems about right with most mufflers. My current cat back was quieter then stock the first couple weeks. Now it's quite loud.
