I spent a couple years detailing cars and with just buying the new GTI I am looking to stock up on my detailing supplies. Most of my experience is with high end professional grade equipment, so I am interested in what you guys keep in your at home "Detailers Tool Kit".

Also willing to offer suggestions and tips along the way, possibly even help some people out if they wanna get into detailing.

Here is a basic list of what I use at home:

  1. 2 bucket wash system with grit guards
  2. 6HP wet-vac (for shampooing and regular vacuuming)
  3. Brushes (various sizes, lenghs, and stiffness)
  4. Wool or microfiber mit (Seperate ones for wheels, baseboards, and rest of the car)
  5. Invisible Glass - Two towel method (cleaning and buffing)
  6. #0000 steel wool
  7. Hot water and rag for cleaning vinyl
  8. Air compressor (blow out the cracks and under seat)

That is the basics, still need to invest in a polisher/rotary buffer, some good polishes and compounds, and either a foam lance or gun
