Warranty work with modded car

I know it shouldn't be a problem, but I'm a bit nervous about Napleton Pontiac doing some warranty work on my car. I think they're going to replace the fuel cap because of the constant CEL I get regarding the evap system. He mentioned scanning the car for prior codes and I'm afraid he's going to see that the car's tune is modded. If they have a history of thrown codes, they will also see that I was getting a lean code on the car before I had 262 tune it with the intake. I'm hoping they don't come back with some bullsh1t about a modded intake and tune.

It's at the dealership right now, so I guess I'll see what happens.

I had work done at the Pontiac/GMC dealer in Elgin with headers, no cats, etc and I didn't get questioned.

Well the tune and intake have nothing to do with the evap system so I'd think you'll be fine.

The dealership just called and said they replaced the gas cap with a newer one. Sounds like they didn't really look into it too much since there is a TSB on the G8 gas caps. My paranoia was baseless as usual.

I know the service manager at napleton cadillac in park ridge and I thought they had a Pontiac dealer over there too.

Unfortunately I have to go back to have them fix the anchors on the driver's side floor mat. They had to order those parts. Every time I get in the car, the mat is in a new position. But it's usually jammed in the upper-left corner of the floor.

The ex-Pontiac dealership by me is cool with mods as long as its not something more serious like a cam, blower, turbo, etc. Headers, exhaust, intake, etc. are cool with them. There are not many G8s in my area, so I think they're excited just to see mine.

I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't fix the problem. Mechanics love to blame gas caps on evap issues. But if a TSB exists, maybe it is a problem.

I'd think with there being a TSB about a faulty gas cap that his chances are fairly good it'll fix it.

Actually it does fix the issue, at least thats what most have experienced.
