Bought the car for a steal. I am technically the second owner but actually the third. The guy who I bought it from did a title jump. He used to own his own shop and is a DSM Master Mechanic and knows everything about them. My friend who is having his 1g built by this guy told me about the car and it seemed too good to be true but I guess it was!
It was bought by an older guy brand new in Palatine in 1995 and he drove it for 108k until letting it sit in the sun for years. The mechanic I bought it from has a race Talon and was looking for a DD so he bought this one along with another DSM. He kept the other DSM as a DD because it was in worse condition and didn't want to ruin/worry too much with this one so he sold it. Everything is FACTORY! Which is very rare. Timing belt and water pump were done at 94k and everything is in pretty tip-top shape except for the sun damage. Car rides smooth no pulling, pulsating, etc. Clutch is slipping but he ordered the clutch and was actually gonna put it in before selling it but was also gonna bump up the price. When the clutch comes in he is gonna install it for 200 bucks which is NOTHING for a clutch+labor oem spec.
It's gonna get a fresh coat of paint, one of my inside and out details, and maybe a few little mods. I'm either gonna keep it or sell it in a few months. It all matters if I sell the Supra or not.
Let me know what you guys think!
Oh and don't know if I mentioned it but it's a TSi AWD 5-speed
