Going lighter is as good as adding horsepower. Here is an equation we use on the Lotus forum trying to get our 1984 lbs cars lighter. Of course the numbers below pertain to the original weight of our car=1984 lbs and 190 hp, but if you sub in your values it should apply then.


** save ~10 lbs gain 1 hp ** EQ: Y=(190*X) / (1984-X) where Y is (HP) and X is (lbs)

not really, I use it daily and just as a truck should be. I wouldn't mind lightening it but maybe when I have another DD

My buddy works for a trucking company, and his NNBS '07 GMC Sierra 1500 weighs in at 5400
