I talked to Matt.. its a camry thing.. they use a 2-wire antenna, that only the stock HU accepts... all it needs is a signal booster, thats it.

I dont know of anyplace local.. I have never once had to use a booster in the 14 ish years of installing.. you may lose a bit of signal but it should be nothing major. the stock radio used one antenna for fm and one for am the after market will use the standard size Motorola style antenna no problem just like any other car.. some radios have shitty receivers and do not pair well with factory antennas.. I am sure a booster will help but the problem is not with the car

Apparently its a toyota design? IE.. no aftermarket HU can handle the weak signal since its going from 2 down to one?

I have a built-in-glass antenna. Im sure id have the same problem with any aftermarket HU

Give Ray's Electronics in Addison a call. They will probably be able to help you out. Anything car audio related you want if they don't have it, usually they can at least order it for you.
