Does anyone know where some junk yards are that have some old iron? I'm looking for a new project. I'm willing to drive some so anything within 100 miles from chicagoland area.

There is u-pick-a-part in Summit and a big junkyard on Route 83 and 171 south of Burr Ridge.

Also there is Victory by Bensenville.

I've been to Summit before and they don't have any older than like 1980. I'm looking for a yard that has 30s and up cars.

you gonna have to drive down route 66 towards cali...youll start seeing them once you start to get closer to oaklahoma.
the aurora PickNpull has a few older cars but they are typical rustbelt cars...too far gone and not worth it to restore...plus they wont release the title to ya.
if your looking at getting a whole car/project your not gonna find em...most older cars in those yards are well picked over and they cant release the title to you...

best you can do is go on all the backroads and find one in a farmers field and hope to hell they can find the title...or go through the bullshit of tracking down a title.
even then it probably would be far more worth it to go south....everything up here will be rotted to hell and cost far more to restore than fuel/travel costs to the south
