So I was sitting at a stop light and saw this

Im pretty sure ive seen these things before, but I do not know what they are. I was waiting pretty long at this stop light going north on Randal rd. (North of 72). Are these some kind of radar photo camera type deals? Looks like a camera and something else. Anyone know what this is?

The one up top is an emergency vehicle detection dohicky. The camera on the pole is probably a camera to capture red light runners

That camera is for traffic purposes not red lights. They're all over by my work near 355. If they were for the police at all I'd have like 100 left turn on reds because our light out front has the worst left turn lane so I get fed up and just go.

yep just traffic cams. The city can control the duration of green/red lights based on traffic congestion. Some are installed intersections that have a higher accident rate for video evidence.

No, the emergency vehicle sensor is on the horizontal pole that the lights are mounted to. In this case, you can see it between the right two lights.
