It was the accident which almost happened but came as no surprise. In the first pair of a four-car AA/Fuel Altered exhibition on Saturday at the California Hot Rod Reunion in Bakersfield, CA, Mike Boyd driving the Winged Express got crossed up on the burnout and crossed the centerline.

Randy Bradford, in the right lane, had just completed the burnout in his Fiat. Boyd kept going and actually PASSED Bradford on the outside, and changed lanes in front of the surprised driver. Boyd nonchalantly returned to his proper lane and backed up as if nothing had happened.
