Curious as to if there is a chart somewhere of "Acceptable Tire width to rim width"

Getting a pair of 15X10's for the back of the truck for next season, I have a HUGE amount of room in my rear wheel wells Vs. say a mustang, but would like to get the typical 'mustang 28 inch tire' width due to tire availability.

Suggestions?

Most tires will have a suggested rim width. I'd use that.

IM me if you wanna know more ;)
I think a 275/60/15 would be a great choice for you. its wide and 28" tall but the 15x10 is too wide IMO for that thing. If you do still wanna go that big then i reccommend 295/50/15... thats alot of rubber but its only a 27" tall tire. I ran the 295's on my old 94 sierra, I had Cooper Cobra radial GT's. I say go with a 15x8 and run the 275's though

thats why I recommend the 275's ;)

if you can snag some 15x8's for cheap then do that

the craigers came in 15X8 and 15X10, didn't know if 15X10 would be excessive or not, sounds like it is.

Traction issues aside, the 26 inch tire impacts my trap pretty badly since I'm hitting OD a full second before I cross the line due to my transmission gearing. 28 inch really is a must.

I will go ahead and order the 275s to use on the 15X8's in a few weeks per everyones suggestions, thanks again! :ford:
