Subaru Chirp Noise

I have the keyless entry set to chirp, and It doesn't matter if I am locking or unlocking the car but it sounds like the chirping noise is dying/fading; sometimes it won't even chirp. I have replaced the batteries in both keyless entry remotes thinking it would solve the problem, but it did not. I was wondering if anyone else know what it is and how to fix it?!

where does the chirp noise come from on the car? I know pre-04's just used the horn, but they switched that for 04+ id locate that on the car and check the wiring or something. make sure nothings loose

If I have to guess, the chirp sound comes from engine bay area.

I'm going to take a look at it later this week and let you guys know if I find anything..

Chirp comes from a siren. You have a weak car battery.

Odd, because I just got my battery replaced about 1-2 months ago at the Schaumburg Subaru. At the same time, the "security" light that should flash every few seconds, flashes like crazy whenever the car is alarmed. All of this started after I took the car for service (it wouldn't start) and they told me I had to replace the battery. Hmmm

Are you sure 04+ don't use the horn? I'm 99% sure that my car "chirps" the horn.

Either way, give your horns a good look. Their directly behind the grill. They use an unprotected connector that is generally pretty crudy. That might be your problem

with my sti you can either have a chip from the horn or an electric beep for some reason mine has been acting a bit funny too...

Yeah, mine is an electric beep.. I took the car to Murrays for a voltage test, and the guy looked around, and tested, and he said that the battery is perfectly fine and he has no idea what it could be.

press the unlock button once then hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time till it beeps... that should turn it back on

Gotcha. I always forget about the electronic beep, but mine only does it when the doors are open and I'm locking the car

its the standard keyless entry system as on the toyota camery or avalon from 05 seeing as toyota owns like 10% maybe more of fuji heavy.... ever compair window and door lock controls controls on a subaru to to toyota.... same OEM provider
