The Boss is absolutely going to spank the new M3. It took the "competition package" M3 to "tie" a Mustang GT. I am impressed at what Ford has done in terms of progression over the past 3-4 years

I find it funny how the Camaro SS is left out of these comparos. GM needs to go back to the drawing board with the Camaro quickly or the Mustang is going to put it back to bed again.

This just goes to show you how well the electronic shocks work in cars like the M3, ZR1, etc.

Not really schooled. The 03-04 Cobra and GT500 have been good competitors to the LSx motor.

In all seriousness, I expect the Boss 302 to be faster than a Grand Sport Corvette around a road course. The Boss 302 Laguna Seca might even be faster than a Z06.

If Ford is telling the truth and the Boss is 3 seconds faster than the GT, look at where it sits:

This sounds nuts when you read it. A solid axle American pony car beating out race cars and Japanese supercars and all for under $40k

I'd like to see a comparison as well. . and I love the new mustang, I love the fact that these two are even close enough to draw a comparison. While IMO they don't compete, being able to compare them is huge.


The vette forums are hilarious. Event the mere mention of the 2011 vette over there makes tons of people have to take blood pressure medication, or go out and polish their car. .

If you look at the Laguna Seca times, the M3 isn't far from the Z06, the new boss will probably be faster than a Z06.
