My Dads 1970 Corvette at Bloomington Gold 2010

Here are some pics I took of my dads 1970 Corvette 454 that received 3 awards at Bloomington Gold 2010. It received Gold Status, Survivor, and Benchmark which means that the car is in such good condition and unrestored that it can be used as a benchmark for judging other cars. Keep in mind that the paint is ORIGINAL and 40 years old!!!

I saw a number of Corvettes heading north on IL RT 47 as I was heading south that Friday before Bloomington Gold. If they all traveled together, that would've made quite the site...lol.

Me and my cousin walked through the certification section on the Friday. Last time I went I must have missed that section because it is a little out of the way from everything, but DAMN are there nice cars there. It is hard to get Gold Certification, and all of these cars are damn near perfect. Congrats to your dad, 1970 is a good year C3, plus an original big block makes it that much better. Now with all of those awards that is sure to help matters! GL with NCRS!

Hey you dad has the same exact car my dad has! My dad's is blue though. Last I checked he only had 22K on the clock. My dad had it stored in a mineral cave in PA where he lives. It stays at a constant 60 degrees all year around and has like zero moisture in the air. He had to take it out from there because the air sucked all moisture from everything. The seats dry rotted and all hoses and gaskets rotted. The tires were shot, it was a mess. He sent it out and had everything rebuilt and had to have the seats reupholstered. It's back to mint again, thankfully.

yea he was bummed out over it for a while. Everything is back to mint but because the seats are not original anymore it will never be like your dad's car.

That car was in storage for about 10 years while we were really heavy into the sprint car.
