Maybe a Roto-joint replacement? The delrin cups should help with the noises. My Roto-joints are silent, aside from road nice transmitted to the cabin.

Ordered Lamin-x last week and decided to put it on the headlights today. The plan was always to cut out windows for the light to do its thing, put the full sheet on and turned on the lights. FUCK THAT! I could see little to no light escaping so on with the trimming. I've been kicking around the idea of painting the headlights to look like this but I like the amber marker lights and people being able to see me. Fog lights are going to get done soon, had I ordered another 2" of the stuff I could've done them today. I didn't get pre-cut because I wanted charcoal not smoke, charcoal is darker and used for tail lights.

Tried this for long enough to take a pic. Looks too Tahoe (ish).

MUCH better.

$99 for a fucking belt?!?! Is it an internal serpentine belt that has to be changed with your turn signal fluid?

35 for the belt and a 1/2 hour labor was my guess.

I have been showing homes all week so I need to have a clean car. Every time I have washed it, it has rained that day. So, the car has been washed several times this week.

I just pulled the LCA's off and ended up replacing the rod ends today on both LCA's. Went relatively smoothly only needing some heat on the jam nuts to break them free. I bought a bulk pack of rod ends years ago and still have a few left. Shit was rusty as hell and by far the worst they had ever been. The rod end only moved a small amount and when I could get it to rotate it would make all kinds of creaking squeaking sounds.

couple shots before I replaced the rod ends just after I cleaned up the poly side. this is 140K of daily driving in snow and all the shit...

no powder coating on there at all. its all rust but still solid so I'm going to keep running them.. lol.

Synthetic oil change today for the Caddy. Asked them to blow out the A/C drain line, too since my passenger floorboard just started getting wet. No antifreeze smell so it's a safe bet the drain is blocked with leaves.

Got the battery replaced in my GTO today. Bought it from Brakes Plus 4 years ago because they had a 5 year warranty. Which no one does. Was starting to get a bit sluggish lately so I brought it in and had em test it and they said yup, probably could use a new one. So all I paid for was the test fee and "labor" to remove the old one and put the new one in.

I was doing the same with the DieHard Gold I have in the old van. Wifey, using all the electric stuff (like the power sliding doors and liftgate), all the time with the van off, kills batteries and she'd chew through it in ~3 years. The Gold's come with that 5 year warranty also. So free battery every time.

Ordered this for the Caddy today. The original has been "clicking" for some time but recently it's been getting more obnoxious.

I was going to do it myself because, well, it's a fucking driveshaft... Press out the post bearing joint, separate the yokes, slide the main yoke off, slide off the carrier bearing and reverse process to put it back together. A couple hour job on a Saturday. But when I got under their, GM had a nice surprise...

This is the "joint" after the carrier bearing... Well played GM, well played...

So, I talked to Phil at Suburban Driveline in Villa Park. He's repaired this on a Porsche Cayenne. Evidently it's almost the same setup.

Correct, and a regular u-joint conversion, something with a manual transmission, that I am regretting... With as much slack in the driveline as these things have, this thing thunks and clunks constantly in light throttle application.

Anyway, back to the Caddy, there are just days I want to strangle someone at GM. This car is absolute fucking evidence of it with only 2,503 made.

So they list a part number for the center bearing. I even looked it up in GM parts network using my VIN#. Since there is a bearing available, that means it can be serviced... I then placed my order as I posted on Friday. I even matched up the pictures of the unit to my unit in the car (yea, I said "my unit".)... Saturday I get a message from Flow Parts (GM Parts Direct), that the bearing I ordered, with the part# based on my VIN# IS NOT correct and that you can't get the bearing, the only option is a whole fucking new driveshaft.

Do you know who makes the bearing or have a bearing number?
