Some guys do things just to make other people cringe. Engineer Christian Newman decided to do it with an eye-searingly greenish-yellow, carbon-fiber and kevlar-infused E30 BMW with a transplanted Nissan GT-R straight six. His reward? Scorn, and 286 WHP.

Christian's build took nearly four years of modification, design, fabrication and tinkering, but the results speak for themselves. Say what you will of the garish color palette, we think it adds character, but you can't say enough about the parts and concept, this things is built to the hilt and will likely be a monster around a cone course. He calls it the BMW 326rb, we call it awesome. Just check out the mile-long list of mods:

My real questions is why he's ONLY making 286 whp out of that set-up. I am not GT-R expert, but they were underated at 276 from the factory, and I've read that many easily put that to the wheels in stock form. Either way interesting build, and looks clean as hell.

Maybe he did his research and found that the GT35 was perfect for his auto-x plan, like its been said, he's probably looking to make usable power every where, instead of just big power up top where it's worthless in auto-x. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt with all the time and effort he put into it.
