I towed a Taurus with a early 2000's Ranger... V6...

a Ranger with a V8 should be no problem... just get a tranny cooler...

Got the 4 banger out, had it 3/4ths the way in last night, fan and intake manifold didn't clear. Got the day off monday *today...?* Just gotta pop the fan and upper intake and its in, I'm using the 96 wiring harness to retain my 96 5.0 ECU, and I have returnless fuel rails to retain the ranger chassis returnless system.... I hope to have it fired by tomorrow night.

It'll be interesting when its 100%... Lots more work to go even AFTER the engine is in... Gotta do the rear end swap, hopefully my driveshaft will reach, etc, etc... Exhaust..... Christ...

Don't use the bumper mount, get a real hitch, but those things don't tow much weight so be careful.

Id think with a true reciever hitch you'd be fine towing small cars. You planning on a full size trailer or just a dolly? I wouldn't use the bumper.
Get electric fans. Free up some hp

a few years back me and Kamil towed a civic and dolly off his bumper problem free... Didn't know that it was that risky?

You can get a class 2 hitch for around $100 if you shop around
