97 saturn no start

Got a 4 door white 97 saturn (8th vin# is 7) pretty sure it's the 1.9, sc2 or sl2, but not sure on the model. Car was running fine two weeks ago (it hasn't been driven, but just started to keep it warmed up and what not). It cranks, but doesn't turn over. When the key is turned, i don't hear the fuel pump, the relay is good...any chance it is the FPR?

My explorer REEKED of gas when the CPS was dead, my Honda REEKED of coolant when the HG let go, I'm sorry that I refer to "Exhaust" and "Tail pipe" as the same thing, Lol.

well if i try to start it, i can't smell the tail pipe as well..

to answer your question, no

basic tests man

you need 3 components for an engine to run

fuel
air
spark

are you getting all three?

more likely to be a fuel pump gone south than an fpr causing a no start issue

your unedited post said you think its the FPR....

dont be quick to blame the fpr....usually you will have a hard start issue...but not a no start

spray some fuel in (flamable carb spray/etc)

if it sputters and tries to start/starts then yeah your fuel pumps not working or the injectors arent firing, at that point your still stuck checking for fuel pressure and then whether the pcm see's an rpm signal and is commanding the injectors to fire

the ONLY reason I'm coming to blame the FPR so quickly, is the bonneville we have did the EXACT same thing and it was the FPR...plus it's sooo much fucking easier to do an FPR than a fucking fuel pump :x

ive heard pumps run that couldnt put out 10psi, so listening for the pump may or may not mean it's actually supplying fuel pressure high enough
