HID lights

Just finished putting HID lights in my grand prix, they look pretty sick, but the high beam indicator light stays dimly lit. Its kinda wierd. If you shut off the fogd it goes out!

Weird. I've noticed mine EVER so slightly lit too. Never turn off my fogs, so I guess I will have to try that...

did u put the dual high and low beam hid's or just the lows

Only lows. Didn't like the idea of HID lows and Halogen highs...

yea same here just lows. I guess they draw some major power.

i was going to put in 8k's but my bulbs went out for some reason i got them under warrenty and they sent me 10k's i geuss ill c how it looks

When did you get an HID kit for your headlights?

On Trans am, is there one bulb that controls both high and low beams or are there 2 separate bulbs for them? It could be something with that if you just got a regular kit instead of a Bi-xenon..

HIDs actually use less power, they draw more amps at startup but when the car is running and the lights are on they draw a lot less current and power. Maybe this will help you guys out, when my GTO has a blown fuse the high beams will be on but very dim, just enough to notice and make you question it, it was in Holdens design for this to happen. Its a nice feature since im not telepathic and only notice when something is going wrong about 3 months after it has happened, maybe the same thing with your cars?

I think its something to do with a ground issue.

Mine does the same thing with the low-beam-only HIDs. Turn the fogs on and the high beam indicator is dimly lit. Turn the fogs off and its gone.

If you got the low/high kit for the 97-03 GPs, the single bulb would do both since thats all that is in the stock housing. Unless you get the aftermarket projectors.

I have HID lows and highs, but the highs seem to burn out very quickly when I use them. I havent checked the bulbs or ballasts.

Isn't there just a piece that uncovers more bulb for the low/highs?

I've thought about getting HIDs again but I'd have to buy 3 sets and that adds up

Im gonna take the highs out and just put halogens in. Probably silverstars. The highs barely get used anyway.

Yea I guess I rarely use them. They're bright as fuck. My lows always seem to get worse and worse. I clean them everytime I get gas but they need a polishing again. The weather is killing them. My fogs are projector housings but they need to be aimed. They're like straight down

Just drill some holes and zip tie one hanging roughly where it should go.

Im still semi looking for a santa fe red/silver bumper. I was gonna buy an ebay bumper and have Panda's dad paint it, but then the bumper would look too nice compared to the rest of the car.

I wish I had fog lights. I only have fog LIGHT right now.

My bulbs are physically stuck in the housing lol. One bulb actually snapped off in the housing and the other just flat out will not come out. I need to take my fog lights off of the car and see why.
