NO RESERVE! NO BUY IT NOW! BID EARLY, BID OFTEN!
You are looking at a 1983 Porsche 944 with Renegade Hybrids Small Block Chevy V8 conversion installed. Complete car, running and driving, cheapest way to get into a V8 944 that you're likely to find. I put it together for autocrossing, but simply have no time to enjoy it so I need to see it gone.
Body: Pretty straight and 100% rust-free. Paint is OK, definitely good enough for a street / race car but won't win gold at Pebble Beach, LOL. JC Whitney hood scoop for air cleaner clearance.
Interior: Gutted, except for one racing bucket with harness. Original gauges replaced with aftermarket water temp, oil pressure, and tach.
Electrical: Car has full charging system with internally-regulated GM 10si alternator. Parking lights, backup lights, headlights, and turn signals are on individual switched / fused circuits. Relays for low and high-beam headlights. Wired for fixed rectangular headlamps with H4 style connectors soldered in. Brackets for headlamps not completed, so car currently has no headlamps. All parts for fixed lamp conversion are included except the brackets.
Engine: 355 cubic inch small block Chevy ("gen 1", not LT1 or LS-series), mild compression, mild cam. 10k on rebuild (rings, bearings, oil pump, cam & valvetrain, seals). No engine receipts, as I bought the engine complete from another local hot-rodder. Weiand intake, Edelbrock carb. Hamburger mini-starter. Sanderson block-hugger headers into 2.5" duals with Cherry Bombs and turn-downs at differential.
Drivetrain: Tilton bellhousing with hydraulic throwout bearing, Hays aluminum flywheel, stock small block MoPar clutch disc, stock non-turbo 944 5-speed manual transaxle.
Chassis: All stock 944 with Weltmeister springs up front. Manual steering. Stock 944 non-turbo brakes. Brake booster removed, pedal redrilled for better ratio.
Wheels and Tires: Aftermarket 16x7 front and 16x8 rear old-school mesh wheels with the early-944 offset (no adapters), with Falken Azenis RT-215 tires in 205/55-16. Two are 50%-worn, two are 75%-worn. All are straight, true, and balanced. No shakes at 100 mph. :)
General: Not for the faint of heart. It's a running and driving car but is 27 years old and is not perfect. Clear MI title. Sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with NO WARRANTY either EXPRESSED or IMPLIED.

On Dec-26-09 at 14:45:12 PST, seller added the following information:Oops, forgot to mention that the battery is weak. It will jumpstart OK but won't hold a charge for long. It's a typical top-post battery, currently has one from a '96 Probe GT.
i would beef up that small block and rock the shit out of it.
