refinishing rims

As the title states, im planning to re-finish my new rims.

they sit like this right now:

and i reallt want them to look like this at the end: minus the yellow center caps

I have read a thread on Audizine (clicky) about re-finishing and was wondering if any of you guys had done this, or had anything to add to the audi thread

I refinished some Neon wheels before, SRT 4 ones... Take the tires off and it is a whole lot easier, but you have to be sure that the tire shop doesn't ruin all the work you just did. Otherwise, just follow the instructions and take your time.

Honestly, just get them powder coated in the color you like. You have to be EXTREMELY careful when handling the wheels all of the time, and its game over if you let anyone at a tire shop handle them at all.

The 20s on my TBSS were painted for the last 5 months with no problems, but it was a PITA every time I took them off. I had the wheels on/off 20-30 times, and only managed to scratch through the paint on one spot of the wheel, around the lug nut.

If you're planning on keeping them for a long time powder coat them. I'd just spray them personally or leave them alone.

ive used the place down on the southside and they did a good job and it was cheap; bicycle frame though.

No clue. My road bike frame was quoted as $80 and it was like $45 I think for a basic color.

I'd send them that pic and tell them the size of the rims. I'd bet they can give you a rough quote.
