Oil And Antifreeze disposal

I have a few questions with regards to the title, oil and anti freeze disposal.

Does anyone know of any companies that do such a thing? I would like to get a 55 gal drum for each to keep at home, and when they near full have them emptied.

Is this worth it? I am doing a good amount of side work that causes me to have a lot of both left over.

If anyone has information on this, let me know. Thanks much!

yes. but ive also started my outdoor bonfires with drain oil, but it tends to smoke ALOT.

That could work. Right now I work at a shop where I can dump the stuff, but I won't be there forever.

I also do not have an oil powered heater like that. Are those expensive?

I'll find out what the company we use at work is. We get our drained every few months or so.

My friend's dad has a work ship, and I just add it to their barrels and they dispose it. Or I just my dad do it. Not sure what he does.

Autozone would only take 3 gallons and wouldn't take my antifreeze.

Have you ever tasted it? It's sweet to the taste. That would be pretty cruel to do though....

Antifreeze is biodegradable. It's toxic in non-diluted form, but you can safely pour it down the drain and it will dilute well before reaching your water treatment facility. It's also legal to pour small quantities down the drain.

If you have a septic tank or field, pouring it down the drain is NOT recommended as it can kill the bacteria that help break down waste.

Autozone and Walmart will take used motor oil for free. I refill the Mobil One 5 quart jugs with the used oil and bring them to Walmart.

lol theres plenty of "snapped" shows on tv where wifes do that to the husbands, you can't taste it in gatorade
