What we liked best about the Slade was how effortlessly it put all 700 horses to the ground. With the four-wheel-drive system and automatic transmission, an Avon Lady could launch the thing perfectly. Apply a bit of brake torque, and the LPE Escalade honks to 60 mph in only four seconds, just about half the time a stocker needs. In 11.1 seconds it's at 100 mph, and in only 12.7 seconds it passes the quarter-mile at 106 mph (a Ferrari 360 Modena F1 reaches 60 in 4.6 seconds and the quarter in 13.1 seconds at 110 mph).

12.7 is very good. The thing most don't realize is the Escalade is 7000 lbs by it self. Add in another 180 lbs for driver and 12.7 is about right. There was no spinning down the track. It's a matter of weight vs. RWHP.

The Escalade has a 10:1 power to weight ratio.
A new stock base Corvette is 3200 lbs and about 365 rwhp (430 at crank) with a power to weight ratio of 8.76:1 and it runs about 12.2 in the 1/4 mile.

700hp in an Escalade is awesome though. To get someting that large and heavy to move about the same as a Corvette would be a fun ride.
