base circle measurement of a cam

does anyone know how to get the base circle measurement of a cam? im too stupid to figure it out and was wondering if anyone could help me out.

usually you start with verifying lobe height (lift) with an ind on the edge of a lifter or better yet right off the lobe. this can be done incar or on a bench plate with vblocks.

use a mic to check the nose to heel distance (-lobe lift to find dia) and measure 90* to that , compare measures, thats lobe base circle dia (+/- tool tol)
