What kind of slicks? My QTPs dont have tubes. IIRC my buddys MT 3053Cs dont either.

i have tubes in my slicks...

make sure you use rim screws when you go tubed too.
just call up summit or jegs, theyll get ya hooked up.

i bought a set of QTPS and one of the slick side wall have a tiny little cracked. just to be on the safe side i thought i'd install tubes in them. phat gtp said there's a shop by his place install them, but that's kind of too far of a drive for me so i thought i ask around here. i'll check around tires shop in my area tomorrow.

If you are going to run tubes "to be safe" because the tire has a crack in the sidewall, you should just replace the tire.

here's a pic you guys tell me if it's ok to run without tubes. the cracks only on one side of one slick.

The tire looks fine to me. It just looks like its beginning to dry rot a little bit. Im guessing you stored the tire with that side down and probably on bare cement? Throw down a piece of carpet or cardboard.

ok what ever you say angel fish. hey i stop by your house several weeks ago didn't you hear me honking?

i bought them from clubgp member it was practical new with rims for $375 shipped didn't notice the cracks until i got them. i'll take your word for it and run without tube.

they are still good. my ET Streets looked like that. sidewall just crackles a little from prolly have really low air pressure in the tire and the weight of a car on it. i ran tubes just to be safe cause i only ran 12psi on my slicks on the GT, and it hooked the best between 12-15. if hte tire says tube type on it , yes it can use them, and its best to run them in them because that tire is a soft sidewall to have with just air in it. slap some tubes in and then bead screw the tires to the rim.

what does your GT have that your needing slicks for?

i have a monte carlo ss. i don't have nothing special just loud mufflers and bunches of bolt on stuff. my goal is to hit 12's and be happy before i go turbo next year. here's a video clip.

oh its not a mustang...

what size/kinda rim are you running. if its a 17" slick dont tihnk you can do tubes, or drill them.

then dont pay attention to the last half of that pm i sent you. thought you had a mustang.
