I need a floor jack

Not looking for anything fancy. Frankly im on a budget. Would like a floor jack (the ones where you pump) and two of those pyramid looking things.

Anyone recommend a store or is anyone selling some?

Those pyramid things are called jack stands. I don't use anything fancy. I have a kobalt 2.5 ton floor jack I got at lowes and a set of pro lift stands I got at ace hardware. I would like to upgrade to one of those craftsman aluminum floor jacks but I don't think you are looking to spend that much.

Harbor frieght for Jack stands. They are usually on sale for under $20.

Usually at sears they have the 3 ton jack, 2 stands and a creeper or seat for $99. That's usually a good buy. Only issue was having to lift up my car by hand to slide the Jack under my lowered car. 2 man job ftl

Pick up the saturday or sunday paper. In the ads, usually auto zone, pep boys, or sears will have a good deal on some cheap stuff. Dont worry about spending a ton of money on one unless you are going to use it more than once a week. Most tools are fairly durable by nature.

This is the one I got for Eagle. Really light weight, fits under the TA.... It is good enuf. My only complaint is that the handle doesn't come apart easily aka you need a tool to take it off.

Got my Costco jack which is really nice for $95. It is better constructed than all of the Harbor Freight junk I have seen. It lifts up to 3.5 tons, has a maximum height of 19", and has a minimum height of 3.5".

For a Wbody and to gain access, Id go with the craftsman jack, jackstands, and creeper set. Thats my plan once the b-day $$$ starts rolling in.

You can drive onto a 2x4 and u should be able to get the jack under it without having to lift the car.
I have to do that with the craftsman low profile aluminum race jack. As far as the jack...its awesome. Low profile,really light,handle comes off in secs. I can fit it in the vette. Worth the extra money. My .02
